TALLAHASSEE, FLA., (www.franchisesportsonline.net) – Tallahassee Community College men’s basketball team (14-7, 1-4 PC) get a big victory ending their four-game losing streak against Gulf Coast (16-2 , 4-1) with a score 80-59.
During the first half, Jaquan Morris hit a three, giving the Eagles an 11-point lead. Late in the first half, with the game tied at 23, Javian Williams drained a three-pointer to take the lead 25-23.
With only 18 seconds left in the first half, Quentin Jackson was fouled and put the Eagles up 31 – 27 going into the half.
Javien Williams leads the half with 12 points.
In the second half, the Eagles were on a 17-4 run giving them a huge lead of 77-56. With only 28 seconds left, Corey Davis slamed a dunk to end the game.
Corey Douglas ended the game with a double-double, 19 points and 12 rebounds. Morris ended the game with 22 points and Williams had 18 points.
” I was very pleased about our guys performance tonight because they really played hard and competed for 40 minutes. They were fun to watch tonight,” Eagles head coach Mark White said.
The Eagles will face off Northwest Florida College February 3 at 7:30 p.m.
Florida State Men’s Basketball defeated Virginia Tech on Saturday January 20th at 12pm in Cassell Coliseum with a final score of 91-82. The FSU men’s team is now 14-5 and 8th in the Atlantic Coast Conference. They next face Georgia Tech Wednesday January 24th at 7 p.m. in Tallahassee for a home game.
The Florida State Women’s Basketball team, now 18-2, accomplished their biggest win of the season Sunday January 21st against No. 2 ranked Louisville. They defeated the Cardinals with a final score of 50-49, handing Louisville their first loss of the season. The win ties for the highest-ran win in history with a defeat against No. 2 Duke in 2004. The Seminoles return to Tallahassee for their name game against No. 5 Notre Dame on Sunday January 28th at 4 p.m.
The Tallahassee Community College Men’s Basketball lost Saturday January 20th at a home game against Pensacola State College, final score of 71-64. They are now 14-6 and next play Tuesday January 23rd at Chipola College 8:30 p.m.
The Tallahassee Community College Women’s Basketball, now 17-2, defeated Pensacola State College 79-58 at home in Tallahassee. They name face Chipola College Tuesday January 23rd at 6:30 p.m.
