TALLAHASSEE FLA, (franchisesportsonline.net)- The Florida A & M University Rattlers have had an eventful homecoming weekend. They played the Hampton University Pirates Saturday at Bragg Memorial Stadium. The stands were packed with 26,044 fans wearing orange and green as all the Rattler fans were excited for this big homecoming game against the Pirates. The Rattlers finished off this exciting week with an even more exciting 31-14 win over Hampton University Pirates.
The Rattlers started the game fast and didn’t hold back after that. The first drive for the rattlers ended up as a touchdown. Ryan Stanley found his big guy an offensive lineman Louben Polinice for a 19 yard TD. Stanley finished the drive 4-5 with two carries as well.
The defense played a big role in this win as well as the offense. The rattlers defense only let the Hampton pirates get in the red zone twice the entire game. The defense forced a fumble which was recovered by Braxton Brown and got two interceptions tonight.
The offense was also on a role, every time they got the ball they were hungry to score. Ryan Stanley finished the game off 18-31 212 yards and 2 TD. Stanley hasn’t turned the ball over since he has been named the starting QB.
The running backs had a nice game. Devin Bowers had 18 carries for 74 yards and Hans Supre had 10 carries for 44 yards and a TD.
Kareem Smith was all over the field whether it was on special teams or even on offense. He finished the game with 6 catches for 86 yards. He also had 3 punt returns for a total of 54 yards and a long of 35 yards.
