Lincoln Gives Godby first loss of the season

TALLAHASSEE, FLA., (www.franchisesportsonline.net) – The undefeated Godby Cougars football team took on the Lincoln Trojans hoping to get their tenth-straight and final win of the regular season.

The first quarter started off with a forced fumble from Lincoln, that gave the Cougars good field position. Godby scored a touchdown on a five-yard touchdown pass from Rasean Mckay to Clevland Blackshear with 8:52 left on the clock.

Lincoln answers back with a touchdown pass from Christopher Beard to Marko Skarica with 3:56 remaining in the first quarter that tied the ball game, 7-7.

The Cougars started off the second quarter with a forty-yard pass from Rasean Mckay to Clevland Blackshear which made the way for a two-yard touchdown run by Tony Street. The Cougars fumbled the snap on the extra-point which made the score 13-7. Later in the quarter Lincoln responded with a touchdown pass from Christopher Beard to Marko Skarica  giving Lincoln the lead, 13-14.

In the third quarter, the Cougars turned the ball over on two occasions with a fumble and an interception.

Late in the fourth quarter the Cougars stopped the Trojans on the one-yard line. The Cougars were able to take over at the one-yard line and scored with :46 seconds left in the fourth quarter on a deep touchdown pass from Rasean Mckay to Alvin Jones. That put the Cougars on top with a score of 19-13. The Trojans got the ball back with :11 seconds left on the clock and scored with a H ail Mary pass to end the game. Leaving the Cougars stunned, 20 -19.

Godby takes down Florida High on homecoming

TALLAHASSEE, FLA., (www.franchisesportsonline.net) –The Godby Cougars headed into their homecoming game against Florida High with an undefended record of 8-0. The Seminoles were 4-4.

In the first quarter, The Seminol #4 the senior, Kevin Sawyer Jr. is brought down at the 23-yard line. By 9:00 into the first quarter the Seminoles turn over the ball at the 32rd yard-line. Within 8:00 the Cougars retain the ball. By 6:36, #36 Que Smith runs from the 31 to the 12-yard line. On the next position, #19 Beto Aguirre scores for the Cougars in the first- quarter. As the Seminoles retain the ball again, the quarterback Bryson Hill has trouble try to get a first down.
Florida High punts the ball with 1:21 left in the first quarter. By the end of the first quarter, #2 Tony Street runs on first- down runs from the 30 to the 51-yard line to end the quarter.

By the second quarter Cougars are up 10 to 0. #15 Resean Mckay throws a large pass to #10 Cleveland
Blackshear that inches to the cougars to the 10 yard line, inside the Seminoles territory. Cougars get to
third down and are not able to get the first down. The Seminoles with 0 unanswered points, try to bring
back the offense and still couldn’t maintain a first-down. Within 10: 26 into the second quarter,
Nicholas Dixon scores for the Cougars. By the end of the second half Cougars and Seminoles had two
turnovers, but the cougars stayed strong lead 17to 0.

By the third and fourth quarter, The Cougars score 37 points with the help of #2 Tony Street, #35
Kamron Martin and Resean Mckay. #15 Will Haigler for the Seminoles scroes a touchdown for Florida
High. In the fourth quarter, The Seminoles have the ball, and on second down Keldrick Pompey makes
an interception for the Cougars in the end of the fourth. Cougars take the lead against Florida High 37-7.
