TALLAHASSEE, FLA., (www.franchisesportsonline.net)- Tallahassee Community College men’s basketball team (8-0) beats Hillsborough Community College 72-50 in their second home game of the season, putting TCC on an eight-game win streak. TCC sophomore guard Javien Williams led the way with 21 points.
After losing to TCC last Monday 89-88 in overtime, the Hawks looked for a better outcome.
Williams threw down a one-handed dunk, putting TCC up to 24-15 with 7:15 left in the first half. Constant rebounds and crunching down on the number of fouls (27) from Monday’s game against Albany Technical College was the key to the Eagles success. TCC only allowed 14 free throws against HCC.
“You can look at any box score tonight, and you will be hard-pressed to find anybody to win by 22-points with those offensive stats,” TCC head coach Mark White said.
Five different players logged at least 20 minutes during the game.
“It’s all about how you hard you play, and you show me you can play hard. Then I develop trust in you. Then you get to play the most minutes,” White said.
TCC had over 40 rebounds, with 22 on offense and 25 on defense. Corey Douglas led the offense with 12 rebounds.
The Eagles will return Friday against Snow College in Melbourne.
