TALLAHASSEE, FLA., (www.franchisesportsonline.net) – Panhandle Conference Women’s player of the year this past Monday. She is the second female from TCC to win the award, with Shamar Harris doing it most recently in 2008.
The sophomore from Kenner, La lead the state in points per game (21.1), and was sxith-best in the conference in 3-point percentage (34.7 percent). On February 18, she became the second player in TCC women’s history to reach 1,000 career points. In 28 games this season, she also averaged 7.0 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 2.1 steals.
Perhaps her most memorable performance was during TCC’s upset against reining national champion Gulf Coast State. In the 89-78 victory, Wilson notched 29 points on a 13-for-19 shooting performance. She also pulled down five rebounds and had five assists.
On Wednesday, March 8, her and the Eagles will begin play at the state tournament where she will be just 15 points shy of breaking the TCC scoring record.
