TALLAHASSEE, FLA. (franchisesportsonline.net) – Four quarters were not enough to decide the outcome of the 7A District Championship where the Lincoln Trojans went on to beat the Leon Lions 68-62.
Leon (18-8, 1-3), although officially the away team, hosted Lincoln (17-5, 4-0) and fought hard, but in the end could not keep up.
“First of all, let me just give coach Ricky Davis and the Leon Lions a lot of credit,” said Lincoln head coach Dimitric Salters. “They came in and they stood toe to toe with us tonight. They refused to lie down and lose…It’s really tough to beat a team three times, especially in their gym, regardless of who’s the favorite.”
