Tallahassee, Fla. (www.franchisesportsonline.net) – Just a day after beating Michigan in the Orange Bowl at the Miami Dolphins’ Hard Rock Stadium, and improving the Seminoles to a 9-2 record against Big Ten Schools. Orange Bowl MVP Dalvin Cook stated that he will apply for early eligibility to enter the 2017 NFL Draft.

Cook announced  this information Saturday afternoon via Instagram Live. 

Florida State’s all-time leading rusher Cook ranks top three in ACC history with rushing yards, and is the first back in league history with 4,000 yards in just three seasons. 

Against  Michigan, Cook rushed for a total of 159 yards, and had a total of 62 receiving yards on just three passes. He finished his last game with a total of 221 total yards which helped Florida State defeat them 33-32 in the Orange Bowl. 

Cook also had his second consecutive season of 19 touchdowns. His fourth quarter , 71-yard run from scrimmage is the longest non-scoring run in Orange Bowl history since George Tech Sinjin, who ran for 69 yards against Mississippi State in 2014.


“Yeah, I think he’s a great player,” said University of Michigan Head Coach Jim Harbaugh when asked about Cook moments after the 2016 Orange Bowl. “I thought that coming into the game, like Chris said, and as advertised, he’s a great back.” 

Entering the bowl game, Cook ranked sixth nationally in rushing yards and eight in all-purpose yards per game with 170.5. 

In order to the begin the  process off entering the 2017 NFL Draft Dalvin Cook will need apply before the Jan. 16 deadline for early draft eligibility.
