This week FAMU Athletics gave the football team some relief, bringing in the Head Coaches of all the sports in to speak about their seasons, current or upcoming. Basketball Coach Clemon Johnson drew laughs from the crowd of media and FAMU Staff when likening stout big-man Yannick Crowder to himself when he donned a Rattler jersey, as well as jovial gripes on the lack of records for blocks in the FAMU all-time stats, and how easy he recorded over three in a game.
FAMU’s Antonia Bennett and Tameka McKelton were selected to the preseason All-MEAC team today, the MEAC announced. Entering their senior seasons, Bennett and McKelton look to repeat with postseason honors and guide the Lady Rattlers to a run at the MEAC title, according to Florida A&M Sports Information.
The Lady Rattlers are picked to finish fourth in the conference. Coming off a 15-15 season, 9-7 in the MEAC, the Lady Rattlers look to show some consistency for the entire year.
