Quarterback EJ Manuel is ahead of schedule after returning to the Buffalo Bills practice field Sunday, said coach Doug Marrone.The first-round draft pick had been sitting out after having his knee scoped. Manuel participated in individual drills Sunday and is expected to take part in team drills beginning Monday.
Marrone said the team will make the determination Wednesday whether Manuel or fellow rookie quarterbackJeff Tuel will start the Bills‘ season opener.

The Florida A&M University baseball team had it’s first season under new head coach Willie Brown, this year. With a rebuilding team, the Rattlers finished with an (7-45) overall record and (5-19) in the MEAC.

TALLAHASSEE,FL (June 7) – Florida A&M baseball announced the signing of four players to help rebuild the squad. Included in the group are two pitchers. The achilles heel for the Rattlers this past season was relief pitching.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – Florida State head women’s basketball coach Sue Semrau announced the addition of Northwestern transfer Morgan Jones on Wednesday.
Per NCAA transfer rules, Jones will have to sit out the 2012-13 season, but will have three years of eligibility remaining for the Garnet and Gold.
“We are extremely excited to welcome Morgan to our Seminole family,” Semrau said. “She is a true game changer. Morgan is one of the most versatile players I have ever seen. The minute she steps on the floor, she will have the ability to be one of the top players in the ACC. Her return to the state of Florida will be a catalyst for other great players to also join the Garnet and Gold, and once again propel us to the top of the conference.”
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (May 29, 2012) – Tallahassee Community College softball standout Amanda Ake added “All-America” to her résumé when the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) released its 2012 Division I All-American softball team.
Ake, a native of Carrollton, Ga., was named a third-team All-American by the NJCAA, one of 11 players selected from the Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA)/NJCAA Region VIII. She is Tallahassee’s first NJCAA All-American in softball since Ashley Ivey received first-team honors in 1999.
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The NCAA Division I Baseball Committee announced 16 regional sites for the 66th annual NCAA Division I Baseball Championship. Florida State University was selected as a regional host for the 29th time in school history. The four-team regional will begin on Friday, June 1 on Mike Martin Field inside Dick Howser Stadium.
The national top eight seeds are Florida (42-18), UCLA (42-14), Florida State (43-15), Baylor (44-14), Oregon (42-17), North Carolina (44-14), LSU (43-16) and South Carolina (40-17).

NORFOLK, Va., – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) announces the 2012 Commissioner’s All-Academic Team, recognizing 814 student-athletes from the conference’s 13 member institutions who achieved academic success during the 2011-12 academic school year. The team honors student-athletes, including sophomores to seniors, with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better.
“I am excited to highlight the 814 student-athletes who maintained a 3.0 or better grade point average during the 2011-12 academic school year,” said Commissioner Dennis E. GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Florida State senior outfielder James Ramsey and NC State freshman pitcher Carlos Rodon lead the 2012 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Baseball Team, as announced today by Commissioner John Swofford.
Ramsey, who led the Seminoles to the Atlantic Division title and the No. 1 seed in this week’s ACC Championship at Greensboro’s NewBridge Bank Park, was selected as the conference Player of the Year in a vote of the league’s 12 head coaches.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) – The Florida State sand volleyball team will host the USA Volleyball Beach High Performance Tryouts for the national team on Sunday.
The tryouts will feature some of the country’s best sand volleyball players and run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Seminole Sand Volleyball Complex.
“There will be a great pool of players here in Tallahassee for the USA Tryouts on Sunday,” FSU sand volleyball head coach Danalee Corso said. “This tryout shows that Tallahassee is becoming a destination for beach volleyball and that Florida State has one of the country’s top facilities.”
