GAINESVILLE, Fla. (Sept.14) –The FAMU Rattler cross country team placed seventh overall in the University of Florida’s 25th Annual Mountain Dew Cross Country Invitational at the Mark Bostick Golf Course on the campus of the University of Florida. In one of the largest fields they face annually, with 230 athletes running, the Rattlers held their own finishing with 205 points in the 8K race. The Rattlers had two athletes to crack the Top 20 in the race.
Elias Chesire led the Rattlers, finishing in 10th place in 24:43.74. Kevin marindich, who notched Chesire in the first two meets of the season, took 16th place in 25:04.24. Placing 96th was Dieumy Duclose, who finished in 27:15.75, while Robyel Kidane ran 27:33.79 for 115th place. McDaniel Olivier placed 170th, rounding out the Rattler squad in 29:28.33.
As a team, theRattlers scored just ahead of the LSU Tigers, and right behind the University of Miami Hurricanes. The Rattlers will travel to Daytona Beach, to participate in the B-CU Beach Invitational, Fri., Sept.20.
