College Basketball (M): FAMU 87-North Carolina A&T 77 (Blitz Analysis)

By Ariel Bedford

The FAMU Men’s Team got another much needed victory in MEAC play, outlasting the North Carolina A&T Aggies in a game that was as fulfilling for Rattler fans as it was head-scratching…

Behind a solid 41% 3-PT FG 1st half showing FAMU went into the second half with a 39-31 lead, and had a chance to put the contest away early. Energized by costly ball-handling turnovers from the Rattlers, however, along with scrappy physical play from Guard Jeremy Underwood, NCAT stayed in the game longer than they should have been allowed to. A tip-in by Waylan Siverand made the score FAMU 63-NCAT 60 with 7:42 left in the match, and it seemed as in typical fashion the Rattlers would find a way to let a W slip away. Amin Stevens’ 5 straight points, including a traditional 3-pt play helped stave off the Aggies and allowed for the shooting of Reggie Lewis and Avery Moore to push FAMU back to a more comfortable lead. By besting North Carolina A&T, FAMU now is back to .500 in MEAC competition….
