The (14-17, 6-10 ACC) Florida State Lady Seminoles dropped their first game of the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament Thursday afternoon to (17-14, 5-11 ACC) NC State, 74-71 in the Greensboro Coliseum in North Carolina.
Red shirt junior Alexa Deluzio led the Seminoles in scoring with 26 points, but the Lady Seminoles were unable to finish the game.
FSU started the game strong leading the Wolf Pack at the half, 35-42. The Seminoles led by as much as 10 points in the first half, and lead by seven point in the second half. NC State largest lead came minutes into the game at the 00:44 mark of the game.
The Nole’s were able to complete 26-of-56 field shots in the game, and scored 19 points off of turnovers.
NC State was able to go on a 6-0 run at the 13:00 mark to tie up the game. The Seminoles lost their second half lead on a 3-pointer by junior guard Marissa Kastanek, who led NC State with 21 points.
Senior center Cierra Bravard struggled in her final ACC Tournament only making 10 points, and grabbing four rebounds for the Seminoles. Sophomore forward Natasha Howard led the Seminoles in rebounds with eight boards.
With the score at 69-71, NC State guard Emili Tasler would complete on a 3-point attempt to allow for the Wolf Pack to take the lead with minutes remaining in the game.
NC State would go on to defeat the Seminoles in the first round of the ACC Tournament, 74-71.
NC State will go on to play the winner of Georgia Tech and North Carolina on Friday.
