TALLAHASSEE, FLA. – No. 5 Florida State and No. 3/4 Clemson were highlighted as the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award Marquee Match-Up for Week 8 on Tuesday.
The Seminoles face the Tigers at 8 p.m. ET on ABC on Saturday at Memorial Stadium in Clemson, S.C.
Both FSU redshirt freshman quarterback Jameis Winston and Clemson redshirt senior signal-caller Tajh Boyd are Davey O’Brien Watch List candidates.
Winston is a two-time Davey O’Brien Quarterback of the Week winner and he and Boyd stand 1-2 in the ACC in nearly every quarterback statistical category.
Throughout the season, the Davey O’Brien will highlight the best weekly quarterback matchup as the race for the oldest and most prestigious national quarterback award continues. Quarterbacks from all 125 NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision schools are eligible for the award until the field is narrowed to 16 semifinalists on Monday, Nov. 4.
