The (4-1) Lady Noles extended their him win streak last night against No. 11 Marquette. The Noles also gave the Golden Eagles their first loss of the season.
Janice Cayman, Tori Huster and Jessica Price all scored a goal last night in the win.
“There was a period in the second half after Marquette scored that we did impose ourselves in the game,” head coach Mark Kirkorian told reporters (seminoles.com). “We did create some good attacking chances and had some decent possessions. Overall, we have to feel good about the win but not necessarily the full performance.”
The Seminoles broke out to an early 1-0 lead on the first shot of the game thanks to Huster’s second goal of the season. Off a Seminole throw-in, Huster redirected a deflection from Cayman inside the left post from seven yards out to give FSU the advantage in the eighth minute of play.
Both schools combined for six shots in the first half with the Seminoles limited to just two.
Florida State hits the road for a Sunday matinee in Birmingham, Ala., as the Noles take on UAB at 2:00 p.m. EST.
