Jameis Winston is a three-time Davey O’Brien Quarterback of the Week this season
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Saturday’s clash between No. 3 Florida State and No. 7/6 Miami was selected as the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award Marquee Match-up for Week 10 on Wednesday.
The Seminoles host the Hurricanes at 8 p.m. on ABC at Doak Campbell Stadium.
Winston leads the ACC in nearly every passing category, including yards (2,177), touchdowns (23) and total offense (329 ypg). He is a three-time Davey O’Brien Quarterback of the Week winner, a five-time ACC Rookie of the Week and already a semifinalist for the Maxwell Award, given to the nation’s top player.
Miami senior quarterback Stephen Morris is a member of the Davey O’Brien Award Watch List and has led the Hurricanes to a 7-0 record this season by throwing for 1,463 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Throughout the season, the Davey O’Brien will highlight the best weekly quarterback matchup as the race for the oldest and most prestigious national quarterback award continues. Quarterbacks from all 125 NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision schools are eligible for the award until the field is narrowed to 16 semifinalists on Monday, Nov. 4.
