Tallahassee, Fla. (May 8, 2012) – The Florida State Seminoles adds another top player in the country to their 2014 recruiting list.
Florida’s top running back from Miami Central commits to Florida State, according to numerous reports.
5-foot-9, 180-pound running back carried the ball 283 times for 2,160 yards and 24 touchdowns. He is also a two year starter.
According to MaxPrep.com reporter Stephen Spiewak, Yearby selected Florida State over Miami, Florida and other power house schools.
Yearby stars for Miami (Fla.) Central High School, the same school that running back Devonta Freeman attended in Miami.
Running back Yearby is said to be able to catch the ball well, and also has a good feel for the game with excellent balance and vision.
Yearby was recently named running back MVP at Miami Nike Football Training Camp. He was also named the 247Sports Sophomore Offensive Player of the Year, helping lead Miami Central to a 13-1 record and a spot in the state championship game.
“It’s a great team, great program, great athletes,” Central head coach Telly Lockette told MaxPreps in March. “I think it’s going to be a great game.”
