TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Oct. 9) – The Florida A&M’s Men’s Cross Country team earns Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week honors for the second team this season as Kevin Marindich was named MEAC Cross Country Athlete of Week, announced today by the conference office.
Marindich, a 5-9, 132 sophomore from Nairobi, Kenya earned the weekly honor for his performance in the Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic Gold Meet as he finished seventh overall with a time of 25:07.07 leading the Rattlers to a fifth place finish, eight points ahead of Southeastern Conference member Texas A&M.
This was the second time this season that the FAMU Men’s Cross Country has had an athlete named MEAC Athlete of the Week. Elias Chesire was MEAC Athlete of the Week (Sept. 18) for his performance in the Mountain Dew Invitational hosted by the University of Florida in Gainesville, Fla.
FAMU will return to action on Friday, Oct. 11 as the Rattlers will participate in the Florida State Invitational at Apalachee Regional Park.
