Tenth-ranked Florida State will travel this week to face the No.8 Virginia in a ACC match-up.
The Lady Noles will travel this week in search of another ACC win. The Noles has never been able to rally against the Cavaliers.
Virginia leads the series 10-0-4 including a mark of 7-0-1 in Charlottesville.
Three of the last five meetings have resulted in a tie, according to seminoles.com. FSU came away with a 1-1 tie in Charlottesville back in 2007 snapping UVA’s six-game win streak over the Noles inside Klockner Stadium.
Florida State is coming off a 1-1 home stand last week in which the Seminoles dropped a 2-0 result to No. 10 North Carolina but bounced back to beat NC State by the same score.
According to seminoles.com, McCarty enters this weekend’s game against Virginia needing one goal to tie the school record for career goals – a record set by Cindy Schofield, who scored 40 goals from 1999-2002.
MCarty is also 11 points shy of becoming the schoole’s all-time scoring leader – a record also held by Schofield at 102 points.
Virginia returns home for the first time in three weeks since handing Maryland a 4-1 loss back on Sept. 15 in the conference opener for both teams.
