DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Sept.20) – The FAMU Lady Rattlers won the B-CU Beach Cross Country Invitational for the fourth consecutive time, as they finished first, second and third in the race on the shores of the Daytona Beach.
Effiey Kosgei took first place, winning the 5K in 19:43.62. The sophomore, who has already won MEAC athlete of the week this season, continues to improve and impress in the process. Teammate Cynthia Chelelgo took second place in 19:49.65, while Chandelic Jackson took third in 19:50.71.
Zenia George took fifth place in 21:07.18, while QuanDra Shanks finished sixth in 21:30.02.
The five places netted the Lady Rattlers a score of 17, which was 29 points ahead of the second place B-Cu Wildcats and 42 points ahead of the Savannah State Tigers.
