As a local sports broadcasting program and as college students, the staff at Franchise Sports has had the opportunity to gain insight on the fitness and health aspects of athletes, particularly our local youth.
The Noles will face No.11 Marquette at home this Friday, September 2 at 7:00 p.m. in the Seminole Soccer Complex.
Friday’s match will be a rematch of last year’s third round NCAA Tournament action in Tallahassee.
Kallman, sophomore defender earned a spot on TopDrawerSoccer.com’s Team of the Week. She played a vital role in leading the seminoles to a pair of home victories over New Mexico and North Florida last week.
The Woodbury, Minn., native was also a spark for the Seminole offense in both matches as she scored a goal, the game-winner, in a 1-0 victory over New Mexico and assisted on a goal in a 5-0 win over North Florida. Her goal against the Lobos came off a throw-in as she found the back of the net on a header in the 10th minute of play. The game-winner was the second of her career.

The Florida A&M Football team held their annual Fall Orange and Green game on Saturday, August 27. The game was held as a last scrimmage of their two-a-days camp in Bragg Memorial Stadium. The Orange team defeated the Green team 74-0 saturday evening. Checkout the video on the Online Shows page.
This week Franchise Sports went to high school football jamborees, sat down with a Former FSU Volleyball Player, who currently plays in Switzerland. And, also checked-out the FSU volleyball team as they hosted an invitational. Lady Rattlers volleyball team takes lost against Kansas
The FAMU volleyball team was defeated by Kansas in three sets, 25-22, 25-23 and 25-20 in their first match of the 2011 Hotel Indigo Bulldog Invitational a the Ramsey Center.
According to FAMU athletics, FAMU (0-1) was paced by Katherine Huanec, as she tallied a game high 11 kills, followed by Maria Ceccarelli with seven. Diana Gonzales led the Lady Rattlers in assists with 19, while Karol Marquez finished with a team high 16 digs.
Kansas defeated FAMU in straight sets as they won the first set 25-22. The Lady Rattlers would battle back in the second set, but would come up short as they dropped the set 25-23. Kansas would win the match as they defeated the Lady Rattlers 25-20 in the third and final set.
Kansas (1-0) was led by Allison Mayfield, who collected a game high 15 kills. Behind her was Taylor Tolefree who finished with seven kills. Kara Wehrs, led the Jayhawks in assists with a game high 28, while Brianne Riley finished with a team high 11 digs.
The 2011-12 Florida State men’s basketball schedule has been released. The Seminole men’s basketball team, who finished the season ranked No. 19 nationally and advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament, will face one of the nation’s most challenging schedules according to reports from seminoles.com.
Florida State will play North Carolina, Duke, Clemson, Michigan State, Florida and Princeton and could meet Connecticut and UNC Ashville in the Battle4Atlantis Tournament.
“We think this is a schedule that will more than help is prepare for conference play in January,” Hamilton told reporters.
