Lady Rattlers Preparing for Home Opener

Lady Rattlers are preparing for their season home opener this Sunday, as they will face the University of Jacksonville Dolphins in the Al Lawson Multipurpose Center and Teaching Gymnasium at 3 p.m.

The Florida A&M Volleyball team fell to the University of Georgia in Straight sets, 3-0 (25-23, 25-21, 25-11), Saturday afternoon at the Ramsey Center.

The team is has lost to Kansas University, University of Georgia and Liberty University in the 2011 Hotel Indigo Bulldog Invitational in Athens, Ga.

The action will begin at 3 p.m. on Sunday, September 4, 2011, in the Al Lawson Multipurpose Center and Teaching Gymnasium.

Franchise Sports will host Fitness 4 Fun

On Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Tom Brown park, Franchise Sports will host Fitness 4 Fun, a sports and health day for the city of Tallahassee.

As a local sports broadcasting program and as college students, the staff at Franchise Sports has had the opportunity to gain insight on the fitness and health aspects of athletes, particularly our local youth.

What we have found is that although very talented, the majority of our youth have no real foundation in fitness and lacks the proper knowledge to lead healthy lives. Furthermore, these very vital aspects aren’t being displayed in their homes. With childhood obesity and health related illnesses on the rise nationwide, we understand that in order to make an extreme impact, one must began first with making a smaller lasting impression.

FSU Soccer Player Kallman Earns Honor

Kallman, sophomore defender earned a spot on’s Team of the Week. She played a vital role in leading the seminoles to a pair of home victories over New Mexico and North Florida last week. 

 The Woodbury, Minn., native was also a spark for the Seminole offense in both matches as she scored a goal, the game-winner, in a 1-0 victory over New Mexico and assisted on a goal in a 5-0 win over North Florida. Her goal against the Lobos came off a throw-in as she found the back of the net on a header in the 10th minute of play. The game-winner was the second of her career.
