Rattler Football Players Earns MEAC Honor

Four Rattler football players were awarded top performer honors for the week, Shelley Anthony, Kevin Elliot, John Ojo and Brandon Holdren.

According to reports from the MEAC, Lenworth Lennon‘s game-winning catch that helped the Rattlers beat the FVSU Wildcats on Saturday, earned him MEAC Rookie of the Week honors. Lennon, grabbed a ball that was up for grabs as Kevin Elliott tipped it away from a defender, and scampered into the endzone to give the Rattlers a thrilling 28-22 victory in the home opener. The redshirt freshman from Ft. Lauderdale caught another pass for 5 yards in the game.

Anthony, who plays center, graded out at 87-percent on assignments with five pancake blocks and aided FAMU with 372 yards of total offense in a win over Fort Valley State.

Elliott, who plays wide receiver, caught six passes for 137 yards and one touchdown.

Ojo, who plays safety, finished with six tackles and two interceptions for 30 yards.
Holdren, the FAMU punter, averaged 37.9 yards per punt, with three inside the 20, on nine attempts.
