DELAND, Fla. – In their second game of the season, the Florida A&M Men’s Basketball team dropped a 88-66 decision to Stetson University, here Tuesday, evening at the Edmunds Center.
FAMU (0-2) had two Rattlers to finish in double-figures as Muhammad Abdul-Aleem scored 20 points from off the bench, while Jamie Adams pumped in 13. Markee Teal led FAMU on the boards with seven and Reggie Lewis dished out a team-high four assists.
FAMU finished the first half shooting 40.0 percent (12-of-30), while Stetson shot a blazing 64.5 percent as the Hatters took a 48-29 advantage over the Rattlers into the break.
Stetson (1-1) had four Hatters to finish in double digits as Adam Peg scored a team-high 19 points to lead all Hatter scorers. Aaron Graham pumped in 16 points, followed by Dennis Diaz with 11 and Logan Irwin with 10. Willie Green finished with six rebounds to lead Stetson on the boards. Peg led the Hatters in assists with four.
FAMU finished the contest shooting 44.3 percent (27-of-61) from the floor, while Stetson finished the game shooting 55.7 percent (34-of-61). Stetson held the rebounding edge FAMU 34-31.
The Rattlers will return to action on Sunday, Nov. 18 as they will travel to Tempe, Ariz., to take on Arizona State in 2 p.m. tip.
