TALLAHASSEE,FL (Oct. 6) – The FAMU Rattlers Cross Country team made it a successful weekend as they took first place at the 4th Annual Bobby Lang Invitational Meet, just 16 hours after placing second at the FSU Invitational meet. The meet started at the Robert “Pete” Griffin track and circled around the hilly campus of Florida A&M University.
The Rattlers were led in the 8K race by Antony Kimaiyo, who took medalist honors with a 27:58.12 finish. He averaged 5:37.6 per mile on the tough course around the hilly FAMU campus course. McDaniel Olivier would be the second Rattler, finishing in fifth place in 31:22.40 (6:18.7). Dieumy Duclos, Kevin Marindich, Isiah Coleman, Shuiab Winters, Elias Chesire and Jabrelle Crawfor would take places 6-11 positions in the race.
Duclos finished sixth in 31:42.25 (6:22.7/mile). Marindich finished seventh in 31:42.50 (6:22.8/mile), Coleman finished eighth in 32:13.00 (6:28.9/mile), Winters took ninth in 32:14.86 (6:29.3/mile), Chesire took 10th place in 32:18.61 (6:30.0/mile) and Crawford finished in 33:12.22 (6:40.8/mile).
The Rattlers took first place over Edward Waters with 27 points while the Tigers scored 32.
