TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) – Florida State head coach Leonard Hamilton – the only person to be named the Coach of The Year multiple times in both the ACC and the Big East — will unveil his new team to the nation as the Seminoles begin practice for the 2013–14 season with Seminole Madness, Friday October 11 at the Donald L. Tucker Center in Tallahassee. The festivities will begin at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6pm.
The event, which continues to grow each and every year, and allows fans the opportunity to meet the players, interact and get autographs, is the official start to what will be one of the most historic seasons in the history of the Florida State basketball program. The newly expanded ACC which has added three of the most heralded teams in in all of college basketball to the Seminole’s slate of games includes home games against Notre Dame and Syracuse and a road contest at Pittsburgh.
Become a part of the action – the slam dunk contest, the 3-point shootout — and meet the Heroes of the Tallahassee Hardwood and be part of the blast off into the new ACC.
The Seminoles return a bevy of talent from last season’s team including All American candidate Okaro White along with seniors Ian Miller, Kiel Turpin and Robert Gilchrist. The Seminoles are the third winningest program in the ACC since the start of the 2005-06 season and won the first ACC Championship in school history in 2012.
The Seminoles open their season on Nov. 8 against Jacksonville at the Tucker Center.
