TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) – Florida State senior center Kiel Turpin has a patella tendon strain in his left leg and will miss an undetermined amount of practice time according to Seminoles’ head coach Leonard Hamilton. An MRI done Tuesday at the Tallahassee Orthopedic Clinic discovered strain which Turpin first felt during a practice session last week.
Surgery will not be required and rehabilitation has already begun under the direction of men’s basketball trainer Sam Lunt.
“We are confident that Kiel will be ready to go for the start of the season,” said Hamilton. “We wanted to take care of the strain before it developed into something more and allow Kiel to get healthy and go into the season pain-free in that area of the leg.”
