FAMU DRS And Rickards High School Bands To Perform

TALLAHASSEE, FL. (Aug. 23)– Florida A&M University (FAMU) announces more entertainment for its 2012 football season with a focus on delivering an enhanced football experience and halftime entertainment for fans. Themed as Youth and Community Day, the halftime entertainment for the second home game of the season on October 13th against Savannah State University will feature local Tallahassee high school marching bands from James S. Richards High School and FAMU Developmental Research School. The game will also take on a Pink Theme in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and survivors worldwide and various community groups.

The entire game will be enhanced with entertainment from local radio personality and the voice of FAMU halftime, Joe Bullard, hosting the DJ battles throughout the game between DJ Demp and DJ Bo Weezy to keep the excitement level and energy high among fans.

Lady Rattlers Softball 2012 Recap

Tallahassee, Fla. (famuathletics.com) – The Florida A&M Lady Rattlers ended the 2012 regular season with a 24-27 record. In MEAC play, the Lady Rattlers were 10-4, ending the season on an impressive eight-game winning streak, comprised entirely of conference games.

The season began with three straight losses, as the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga, University of Central Florida and the University of North Florida all took advantage of the squad with a core of new players, struggling to find rhythm.

Lady Rattlers 58, Lady Tigers 45

The Florida A&M women’s basketball team got back on track Saturday afternoon, defeating Savannah State on the road, 58-45. The Lady Rattlers also picked up their 11th Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference win of the season.

FAMU (18-6, 11-1) lost their last game to Howard last Saturday on the road, which brought their 14 game winning streak to an end. The team was able to bounce back Saturday, and got a much needed MEAC win over SSU (9-16, 2-10).
