Rattler Baseball Inks Four In 2012 Class

TALLAHASSEE,FL (June 7) – Florida A&M baseball announced the signing of four players to help rebuild the squad.  Included in the group are two pitchers.  The achilles heel for the Rattlers this past season was relief pitching.

Rattler Baseball Wins Season Opener in Jackson

JACKSON, Miss. (Feb. 17) – The Florida A&M Baseball team picked up their first win of the season as they defeated Mississippi Valley State University, 5-2 in their first game of the Jackson State Invitational, but dropped a 15-6 decision to tourney host Jackson State in the night cap, here Friday afternoon at Robert Braddy, Sr. Field .

FAMU (1-1) tallied a game high 11 hits as the Rattlers had four players to finish with two hits each, while MVSU (0-1) garnered five hits with Clay Perry finishing with a team high two hits.
David Duncan (1-0) picked up the win for the Rattlers as he gave up three hits, one earned run and struck out three in six innings of work. Trey Lacy (0-1) received the loss for the Delta Devils as he gave up eight hits, three earned runs and struck out three in four innings.

FAMU Softball: FAMU Coaches Press-Conference (Blitz Analysis)

This week FAMU Athletics gave the football team some relief, bringing in the Head Coaches of all the sports in to speak about their seasons, current or upcoming. Basketball Coach Clemon Johnson drew laughs from the crowd of media and FAMU Staff when likening stout big-man Yannick Crowder to himself when he donned a Rattler jersey, as well as jovial gripes on the lack of records for blocks in the FAMU all-time stats, and how easy he recorded over three in a game.

Florida A&M Baseball Coach Ready to Take Action

With just a few months under his belt, the newly acquired Florida A&M baseball coach, Willie Brown, is ready to get his team on track and bring the Rattler nation a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference title.

“I am just excited. Yesterday was my first day of really getting to teach, and see what I have to work with,” Brown said. “I almost got chills putting on a Florida A&M University uniform again. It was just so surreal.”
