FSU Baseball Coach Mike Martin on Fall Baseball Season

Florida State baseball coach Mike Martin met with reporters to discuss his team during fall practice.

Baseball America has named Florida State baseball’s recent recruiting class as the eighth-best in the country and second among Atlantic Coast Conference teams. The Seminoles have brought in 14 newcomers for the 2017 season.

The 14 newcomers include three junior college transfers and 11 freshman. Among the newcomers, Drew Mendoza, a freshman from Minneola, Fla., was ranked the No. 10 prospect by Baseball America and is the highest-rated player to attend college this season.

FSU is coming off the largest comeback in school history after defeating Ole Miss 35-44 in their first game of the season.

Charleston Southern took 4-time defending FCS champion North Dakota State to overtime before falling 24-17 in their season opener last week.

FSU Softball Takes Step One On The Road To The Repeat

Chapel Hill, NC – Last year the Seminole softball team captured the ACC crown as the underdog. This year the Seminoles are the No. 2 seed and ranked 19th in the nation, either way the goal is the same and that is to bring home the championship. FSU (46-13) took the first step towards that goal with a convincing 6-2 win over NC State (23-31) in the opening round of the 2012 ACC Softball Championship.
