With the alumni back home, the sun shining, and scene as festive as ever, the 2011 Homecoming Game was going as scheduled for Florida A&M’s football team. Even though they were equaled in first downs (11) by their opponents, the score at halftime was a comfortable 21-0. The band rocked the crowd, and all was well on “the yard”. Though FAMU still had a healthy lead at 28-13, a 54 yard slant pass from Bison QB Greg McGhee to WR Willie Carter, with the latter player resembling a young Jerry Rice in the West Coast Offense slashing through the middle of the Rattler D, opened the floodgates for what was to come.
