Florida State’s Tiffany McCarty was named to TopDrawerSoccer.com’s Team of the Week for the second time this year after recording her first career hat trick in the Seminoles’ 6-2 victory over Clemson last week, according to seminole.com.
It marked the first hat trick by a Seminole in over two years when Becky Edwards netted three against Jacksonville in the 2009 season opener. The win was also the first in the ACC for the Seminoles this year.
With three goals on the night, McCarty moved within two of the Seminole all-time record held by Cindy Schofield, who scored 40 from 1999 to 2002.
The Laurel, Md., native was credited with the game-winner as she scored once in the first half and then added two more in the second half. All four shots taken by McCarty in the game were on goal with three finding the back of the net.
