Three Rattler Football Players Lead MEAC on Offense- Week#6

TALLAHASSEE, FLA. ( – Florida A&M is currently 2-3 overall and 2-0 in MEAC play as the Rattlers dropped a 21-14 decision to Southern University, last weekend in the annual Bank of American Atlanta Football Classic in Atlanta, Ga., at the Georgia Dome.

Six weeks into the season, sophomore QB Damien Fleming leads the MEAC in total offense with 1,091 yards passing, 147 yards rushing for a total of 1,238 yards on 197 plays averaging 247.6 yards per game.

He is also 2nd in the MEAC for passing average, and for passing efficiency, completing 107 passes in 151 attempts with 10 TD passes and three interceptions.

Travis Harvey leads the conference in receiving yards with 92.4 yards per game. He is second in the MEAC with 29 receptions for 462 yards, and second in touchdowns with 7 TDs.

Harvey recorded his third 100-yard game of the season as he recorded eight catches for 108 yards with two TDs in the teams last game against the Jaguars.

James Owens is the Rattlers leading rusher as he has rushed for 241 yards on 36 carries with three TDs in the five games, that he played in. He also leads the conference in all purpose yards with 777 total yards. He has 493 in kick return yards and 43 yards in receiving.
