Week 2 Preview: Big Bend High School Football Games

Class 5-1A

(0-1) Jefferson County at (1-0)Madison County 

Jefferson Co. TIgers lost their home-opener to the visiting Bay Tornadoes, in a non-district matchup, 29-26. 

Madison Co. defeated Suwannee, 49-7, in their season opener. 

The Tigers will be looking to get their first win of the season on the road, as they will travel to face Cowboys, who will be looking to add to their win streak. 

 

Class 4-1A

(1-0) West Gadsden at (0-1) Mosley 

Who will get their first win of the season Friday night?

The West Gadsden Panthers football team was defeated by the Bozeman Bucks in a non-league match last Friday, 35-0.

The Panthers will now travel to Mosley to face off against the Dolphins in another non-league game. The Dolphins also lost in their game against Wakulla, 44-10. 

Class 3-6A

(0-1) Leon vs. (0-1) Maclay

The Leon Lions football team was out played by the Godby Cougars last Friday in a non-league challenge, 43-7. 

The Lions will face Maclay in a non-league matchup on Friday. Maclay also lost last week to the Florida A&M Baby Rattlers, 12-7.

Class 2-5A

(1-0) Wakulla vs. (1-0) Taylor County 

Who will receive their first lost of the season? 

The Wakulla War Eagles defeated the Mosley Dolphins, 44-10, in a non-league game last Friday on the road. 

The Taylor County Bulldogs got their first win over Dixie County in their season opener, 20-19.

 

Rickards – Bye Week 

The Rickards Raiders will have an extra week to prepare for their next opponent, East Gadsden, who they will face Sept. 14. 

(1-0) Godby vs. (0-1) Choctwhatchee 

The Godby Cougars defeated the Leon Lions by air and with their ground attack last week, 43-7. The Cougars are now entering their home opener against Chocawhatchee from Fort Walton Beach.  

Choctawhatchee was beat by Pensacola Catholic in a close match up last Friday, 9-7.

Class 1-7A 

(1-0) FAMU vs. (0-1) Walton

The Florida A&M Rattlers kicked off their season with a win over Maclay last Friday, 12-7. 

The Rattlers will square up against Walton, who were shout out of their first game 21-0, by Gulf Breeze.
